When we Grow we expect spurts.
But we’re Grown now and spurts still hurts only IT’s not bursts
anymore
IT’s achingly slow and incremental.
When we Change we expect constancy.
The inverse true when we were 2, 6 then 7 we never expected to keep the same shoes but with stable feet came unstable footing while each painful adjustment demands that we trust IT to not dare be temperamental.
We Grew then grew afraid
of regression.
We Changed but stood stupefied by our mere lack of obsession to keep fixed on ITs projected course, of course!
When small imperceptible progressive transformation finally reforms a mere one of our mutations
we desperately cling to ITs perpetual electrical continuation while unfolding salvation was always a troubled vocation but we missed it. We think we can or can’t resist IT, that which lures us to More while He cures us to be
less.
When we grow we’ll now know nothing is consistent not even our change not even our insistence. When we change we’ll now engage knowingly with each coming alteration that promises our reduction as we seek not IT in itself, but Hisself instead.
